Aside from the sightseeing activities, much of today was spent consoling our new son. As luck would have it, he has a little bit of a cold and is cutting his one-year molars this week! You can see by the red cheeks and wistful expression that he's in a bad way.
Nap time was pretty rough as he was inconsolable for about 45 minutes straight. Daddy held him as he screamed, squirmed and kicked, while Mommy tried to hide her own tears. It's tough because, at this stage, we're still trying to figure out if there's something wrong or if he's just grieving the loss of his nannies and friends or both. By tonight he was better. He had a bath without too much crying, and went to bed pretty peacefully. Much like last night, though, the quality of his sleep isn't great. So, we're expecting a bit more of the same tomorrow. Poor guy....

Even on his sad day, he's still just so darling. :) Hope everyone breathes easier and gets some much needed rest soon!! - Sarah H
ReplyDeletePoor little guy. Hope he gets to feeling better soon. It seems everyone we've followed in China if facing a battle with colds when they get their little ones. Jake had one, too. I wonder if it's stress-related or just being around others at an orphanage? The country you are in is beautiful. You guys have been so blessed with being able to travel around. Silas will have so much of his culture to draw on. Too bad about the pollution, though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
We are really enjoying following your journey, but we wish you both were feeling a little better. Our daughter was teething when we got her and we found some dark brown teething biscuits at Walmart. They made a mess, but made her happy. Our travel mates also had Hylands Teething Tablets they gave us and made me a believer. Take care...
