Cutting Hair and Cutting Teeth

Silas had his first real haircut this weekend.  It was our second trip to the salon, but the first one did not go very well, so we opted not to get the full haircut.  This time, our boy showed us just how much he has grown up in a few weeks time, and it was perfect timing since he was starting to sport a mighty keen mullet.  He was amazing!  He completely surprised us.  He sat for the entire haircut, and barely even whined.  I think it helped that he was enamored with Miss Mollie, the very nice stylist we were lucky enough to get.  Unlike the stylist we had the first time, Mollie had a great demeanor, and instantly put Silas at ease.  She showed him the trimmer and let him touch it before she put it on his head.  I think he really enjoyed it.  Here's the link to a short video of the haircut:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bth-G28-VRs
In other news, just when we thought the Sleep Strike of 2010 was behind us, Silas started cutting an incisor and molar on the bottom right side of his mouth.  The poor kid is having a horrible time staying asleep.  He wakes up every hour kicking and screaming.  Infant Motrin doesn't seem to help.  However, I did pick up some Hyland's Teething Tablets last night, and they seem to be taking the edge off.  Hopefully, he'll get some good sleep tonight.  It's been a rough couple of days, and it will be a while before those teeth have finished cutting.

  1. Poor guy. We missed teething with Jake, and while we regret every moment with him we missed, we can't complain too much about that one.
